Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosted Brownies

1 and ⅓ cup butter, room temperature
2 and ⅔ cup granulated sugar
4 large eggs, room temperature
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1 cup cocoa powder, sifted
½ teaspoon salt
Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting:

¼ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
½ cup cocoa powder, sifted
3 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted
¼ cup heavy whipping cream


Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with non-stick spray.
In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined.
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cocoa, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture and combine well.
Spread the batter into the prepared pan; it will be thick. Bake for 27-30 minutes or until set. Cool completely.
For the frosting, beat butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add vanilla, then cocoa, mixing well. Gradually add cream and sugar, mixing until smooth.
Spread frosting over cooled brownies, cut into squares, and serve.
